things to do in harford county

Check some of these items off your to do list before and after your meal at Basta Pasta.

Of course, if you live in or are visiting Fallston, the first thing you’re going to want to do is come enjoy some delicious Italian food in a casual restaurant environment here at Basta Pasta. That being said, there’s only so much time you can spend at a restaurant (although we sure won’t stop you from continuing to buy food and drinks). Here are a few things to do in Harford County before and/or after your delicious Italian meal.

To Work Up an Appetite

You may not quite be hungry when you arrive in Fallston, and that’s fine. These things to do in Harford County will help you work up an appetite before you stop by for a tasty and hearty meal.

There are plenty of beautiful outdoor shopping areas around town, like the Havre de Grace waterfront and Main Street in Bel Air. And if you’d rather save the money to spend on your after-adventure meal, there are tons of great parks and trails in the area, like Gunpowder Falls State Park, Rocks State Park, and Kilgore Falls. You can find more information about those parks and plenty more fun things to do in Harford County at VisitHarford.com.

The best place around here for families with kids to go before coming in for a family meal is That Bonucy Place. This inflatable, bouncy arena has been voted the #1 party place in Harford County but also offers hours of fun (and exhausting) “open bounce” to burn some energy before replenishing it with us.

If you’re looking for something with a little less cardio but can still get your heart racing, Barnstormer Hot Air Balloon Rides the view of Harford County from above is truly remarkable.

To Enjoy the Food Coma

On the other side of that coin, after indulging in plenty of scrumptious and heavenly carb-y and cheesey goodness, you may want to find somewhere nice and cool to sit and digest. VisitHarford.com has plenty of suggestions here, too, but here are a couple of our favorites.

Ripken Stadium, home of the Aberdeen IronBirds, has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best Minor League Baseball facilities in the country. The Orioles’ short-season A affiliates have their home opener on Wednesday, June 22 vs the Auburn Doubledays. Head over to Leidos Field in Aberdeen to see some potential future O’s all-stars take the field. View their schedule and buy tickets right here.

If baseball isn’t your thing, the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra performs in Abingdon 4-5 times a year. Coincidentally, their next performance is next Sunday, June 5th, as the final performance of their 2015-2016 program. This outdoor concert event marks the conclusion of the SSO’s 39th season, which means there are plenty of awesome events in store for their 40th anniversary on their 2016-2017 program. There’s nothing better than combining fine orchestral music with delicious Italian dining.
