Everything You Need to Know About Restaurant Week

Discover why restaurant week exists, and how you can take advantage of it this weekend!

Harford County restaurant week is back, and the buzz is all about Basta Pasta’s signature menu. However, if you’re like the rest of us who have never before heard of restaurant week, it might be difficult to grasp what the hype is all about. Read on to discover why restaurant week exists, and how you can take advantage of it this weekend!

A Brief History of Restaurant Week

The first restaurant week was created by Tim Zagat and Joe Baum in 1992. Zagat, a food critic, and Baum, a restaurateur, wanted to find a way to increase business for restaurants throughout New York City, and restaurant week was born. Since its inception, restaurant week has since become a popular event for restaurants throughout the United States.

But What is It?

While restaurant week varies from city to city, the general concept stays the same: local restaurants partner with local chambers of commerce to promote one week of dinner specials. Participating restaurants offer reduced prices on a set menu, as a way to increase interest and showcase their culinary talent.

Does Basta Pasta Participate?

Yes! Basta Pasta will be participating in this year’s Harford County restaurant week. The Fallston location, as well as other participating locations, will feature a lunch and dinner menu. The dinner menu will offer four courses. It starts with your choice of signature soup, followed by a side salad. The main course features dishes such as the Crab and Shrimp Capellini and the Mediterranean Seafood Risotto. Lastly, diners can delight in one of three delicious desserts. Bon appetite!
