You see, pasta is served in some shape or form in other countries and is known as udon in Japan, mein in China and spaetzle in Germany. Basic Ingredients

Pasta basically consists of two basic raw materials: water and semolina flour. Semolina is ground flour that is amber-colored and grown specifically for being used as pasta. Semolina flour is much more easily digestible than a lot of other flour. Farina flour can be used to make pasta as well, but most of the flour is semolina flour. Eggs are sometimes mixed in to add color and richness. Adding herbs and spices like garlic has recently increased in popularity.
