When perusing the cheese and meat section of the grocery store, don’t skimp on the good stuff. Your guests need a variety of choices, and you’ll need plenty of items to fill up an entire board. Cheese, meat, and grapes might be classic charcuterie staples, but consider taking your board one step further. Incorporate nuts, spreads, and fruits to add color and texture!

Sweet and Savory

The best charcuterie and cheese boards blend savory and sweet foods together. Combining sweet and savory is especially important if your guests are drinking wine! What better way to eat a dried fig than with a small block of dark chocolate?

Fill it Up

Once you place the cheese, meat, nuts, and other items on your board fill in the blank spaces! You can use leafy greens like arugula to fill in large gaps, and a colorful spread of dijon mustard to blend smaller gaps. A charcuterie and cheese board should seam bountiful, even if it’s quite modest.
